About

Duluth High School is happy to announce our first annual Science Olympiad Invitational! Our goal is to host an exciting, efficient tournament for the many talented teams and students in the state of Georgia.

The Duluth Invitational will be held on January 17, 2009. Because many registered teams last year were ultimately unable to attend due to inclement weather, we will have a back-up date this year. This date will be January 30th, 2008. We will try to inform schools as soon as possible should compromising circumstances like poor weather arise again.

This will be a Division C tournament only. Due to space limitations, we will be able to accept no more than fourteen teams this year. In order to accomodate as many schools as we can, we'd like to limit the number of teams per school to two, on a first come first serve basis. Medals and trophies will be awarded for the top 3 finishes, and we plan on running all of the academic events plus Electric Vehicle, Elevated Bridge, and It's About Time. We intend on returning all completed tests back to competitors at the end of the tournament.

The registration fee is $50 per team, not including food as of now. We will most likely not be selling food ourselves, but Chick-fil-A or some other local establishment may come sell at our Invitational. We'll try having this confirmed.

We request that each school volunteer to make at least one event for this invitational. We would really appreciate any school volunteering for two events, especially those schools bringing two teams. Duluth can take care of all the printing and paperwork, and we should be able to provide some lab supplies as well. Please let us know what we'll need to accomodate and we'll try our best to make things work for everyone.

Please contact us if you have any questions! We look forward to hearing from you. We will be updating this website and informing you of any developments. Thank you for your interest!
